BANGKOK -- A total of 11 Chinese tourists were injured after a tour bus overturned in South Thailand's Phang Nga province on Sunday, China's consular office in Phuket said.

While heading from Phuket province to Phang Nga, the bus rolled over on the road slippery with rain, injuring 11 Chinese tourists and two Thai guides, the office quoted local police as saying.

Five of the injured Chinese are being treated, mostly for bone fractures, in two Phuket hospitals, it said.

The other six suffered from slight injuries, and are currently helping with the police investigation, the office added.
