WASHINGTON - US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will visit India and Japan in October to participate in bilateral and global economic meetings and meet with key economic policymakers.
From October 9-10, Geithner will travel to Delhi, India, to attend the third annual meeting of the US-India Economic and Financial Partnership, with a stop in Mumbai, also in India, where he will meet with Reserve Bank of India Governor Duvvuri Subbarao, as well as Indian business leaders, the US Treasury Department said in a statement.
The US treasury secretary will be in Tokyo, Japan, from October 11-13, for the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He will participate in a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts to discuss efforts to boost global stability and economic growth during the annual meetings, said the department.
