DAMASCUS - Sounds of armed clashes are being heard from the Damascus' neighborhood of Tadamun Sunday, witnesses said, as the state news agency said authorities are hunting down the terrorists that blew up explosive devices in the same area.

The clashes sent a number of local residents to seek refuge in the nearby Palestinian camp of Yarmouk as the gunshots in Tadamun can be heard across its part of the Syrian capital, according to witnesses.

A pro-government Facebook page said the government troops are cleansing the neighborhood of armed opposition fighters.

Clashes and gunfire have also been heard in the Kafar Souseh orchards in Damascus.

There has been no immediate reports on casualties, but activists said many people have been injured in the government troops' operation in Tadamun.

Meanwhile, pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV said that an explosive device blew up a military bus in the Damascus neighborhood of Midan and that more details are yet to come.
