DAMASCUS - Two loud explosions hit the Syrian capital of Damascus on Thursday, the latest in a string of explosions that have been rocking major cities across Syria lately, a Xinhua reporter said.
The number of casualties remain unknown, said the reporter.
The twin blasts went off in a swift succession, sending woman and children in the streets of al-Mazzeh neighborhood to scream of fear for their lives, as passing cars scrambled to flee away fearing the occurrence of a third explosion.
According to the state-media, the two explosions ripped through an intersection at al-Qazzaz area at al-Mutahaleq al-Janoubi highway that connects al-Mazzeh to the Jaramana district.
Wailing sirens reverberated across the capital as Syrian security forces beefed up presence in several streets rushing cars to move faster to open the way for ambulances.
