During this year's Cultural Heritages Festival, the Ministry of Culture and State Cultural Relics Bureau held some exhibitions and forums about Cultural Heritages. Also, some awards were given to these who had made great contributions to conserving cultural heritages.

As in the field of Intangible Cultural Heritages, the Ministry of Culture chose the first group of people as the representatives in preserving Intangible Cultural Heritages, 40 units and 120 individuals were rewarded as the advanced workers, and the first national protective areas was also set during the festival.

The theme of the festival: "Conserving Cultural Heritages, building a Harmonious Society."

In order to celebrate the festival, a series of activities were held, such as exhibitions at Ethnic Minorities Park in Beijing, a theme party and also some forums and meetings were held.

What's more, 50 units and individuals that scored outstanding achievements in the field of conserving cultural heritages were given some rewards, and the seventh National Museum Exhibition sponsored by the State Cultural Relics Bureau was also be held during this festival. More than 20 ambassadors located in China were invited to Xuanhua city, Hebei province to visit some scenic spots and see folk artistic performance. The State Cultural Relics Bureau and CCTV gave some reports on cultural heritage. Some historic relics were also open to the public for free or only a small charge.
