Maggie Cheung releases song from new film

Award-winning Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung Man-yuk has released an MV for her new song, titled If You Were Gone, which she wrote and sang for the movie Cities in Love.

Directed by young Chinese moviemaker Wen Muye, the film revolves around five love stories happening in five cities, including Shanghai, Paris and Hokkaido, starring Chinese actress Yang Mi, Bai Baihe and South Korean actor Hyun-Jae Lee, which will be screened in China on Aug 20.

With the new song, Cheung also introduced her band, which includes guitarist-keyboardist Hua Dong from the Beijing-based indie rock band Re-tros, and veteran Beijing-based bassist Xia Yan.

The 50-year-old Cheung, who has more than 70 movies under her name, reached fame with movies, including Chinese director Zhang Yimou's martial arts movie Hero, Hong Kong director film director Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood For Love and French director Olivier Assayas' movie Clean.
