Easy Talk Special: Monkey King - Box office hero of Chinese animation

With the summer heat bearing down, nothing can be better than spending an evening with a bunch of friends or family members in a cool cinema. And even if you are not a filmgoer, there is one domestic animation film that just impossible that you've never heard of. It's called Money King: Hero is Back.

The 3D movie is super popular across the country and has broken the box office record for animation works by making more than $100 million in just 16 days in China, beating the previous record holder - Hollywood's Kung Fu Panda 2.

So what is this new sensation? Why people love it so much? What cultural genes is it made of? Is this a sign that Chinese animation works are going to hit the international market? Today, we are very happy to have the director of the animation work, Tian Xiaopeng, to explore this new Monkey King story with us.
