Huang Yue and his vibrant paintings

( chinaculture.org ) Updated: 2015-01-09 09:13:43

Traditionally, Chinese artists use ink paintings to express the beauty of flowers and birds, but artist Huang Yue has carried that tradition on with a Western style of oil painting.

Huang Yue's paintings are rendered dynamic with the use of vibrant colors, which brings strong visual impact. His flower-and-bird oil paintings infuse Chinese and Western styles, which produce a surprising effect.

As of today, nearly 20 of his pieces are among the Rockefeller family collections, a family known for their love of beautiful art. Steven C. Rockefeller Jr. and Kimberly K. Rockefeller both expressed their fondness for Huang's work.
