Shanghai Museum adds online shop on Taobao

Shanghai Museum on Tuesday launched an online shop on Taobao, China's most popular e-commerce platform.

The first batch of merchandise on www.taobao.com consists of 130 pieces selected from among the best-selling products at the museum's retail shops. The offerings include reproductions of signature pieces of the museum's most recognized bronze and ceramic collection, mugs, tea sets and fans bearing the images of art masterpieces, as well as phone cases, jewelry and stationery.

The museum has three brick-and-mortar shops in Shanghai as well as its flagship store at the downtown museum on People's Square. The other three locations are at Xintiandi, the Pudong airport and the Oriental Pearl TV tower.
