BEIJING - China on Friday unveiled the first national logo for volunteering to coincide with International Volunteer Day.
The logo was issued by the Communist Party of China'S (CPC) central civilization office. The logo will henceforth be attached to all volunteering activities across China.
The logo, which is red, features a bird-like shape that looks like the Chinese character "Zhi", which is a shortened form of volunteer, and also includes the heart-shaped Chinese character "Xin" in cursive script.
China has over 65 million volunteers in 129,000 welfare organizations, according to the Civil Affairs Ministry.
