The city of Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province held its first sports meeting for volunteers on Oct 25 in the sports center. More than 500 volunteers in 86 groups attended.

The sports meeting, themed "volunteer services for happiness and health," consisted of seven team events and five individual ones, with the aim of enhancing communication and cooperation among volunteers.

With the focus on entertainment instead of competition, the event was filled with laughter, yelling and joy. One of the volunteers said that the event brought them happiness and togetherness.

The city held a talent contest for volunteers in 2013, and the two events will be held alternately each year to boost unity of volunteers.
