An exhibition in Beijing will provide the cultural and creative industry with a platform for international exchanges and cooperation.

The 7th China Beijing International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo will be staged in the Chinese capital from Dec 19 to 23.

The expo is expected to demonstrate the fruitful results of cultural system reform while enabling discussion and cooperation among cultural and creative industries worldwide.

It is being staged with the theme of “blending technology with culture, transformation led by innovation”.

“It’s necessary that Beijing, as the national cultural center, technology innovation center and international communication center, make full advantage of its cultural resources and further promote Chinese culture to the world,” said Liu Yang, deputy director of the China Council for Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council, on Monday.

The total value of signed contracts has reached 256.4 billion yuan ($41 billion) since the expo was first held in 2006, according to the council.

The expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, General Administration of Press and Publication and the Beijing municipal government.
