Cultural events recognize connections

A series of cultural events will be held to promote the economic and cultural communication between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan next year in Southwest China's Sichuan province.

The new cultural festival will highlight the same origin of culture shared by people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, and include events such as displaying local snacks and customs, literature exchanges and mutual visits of young people, Chengdu Daily reported on Nov 19.

Various activities will be held in the capital Chengdu and other cities in Sichuan such as Luzhou and Leshan, the report said.

The Sichuan provincial committee of the Communist Party of China and the provincial committee of China Zhi Gong Dang, one of the country's eight non-Communist parties, are co-organizing the events, according to the report.
