TAIYUAN - Six people remain buried in debris after an under-repair house collapsed in a village in north China's Shanxi province on Tuesday morning, according to local firefighters.
The accident happened at 11:41 am in Xixin village, Jiazhuang township in the city of Shuozhou, when 11 people were working at the site, said the provincial fire department.
Five people have been rescued as of 2 pm while six are still trapped. Rescuers are continuing to search for them.
The fire department in Shuozhou has dispatched more than 60 soldiers and officers to help with the rescue effort. Six rescue vehicles and 10 ambulances have also rushed to the site.
