BEIJING - The Ministry of Civil Affairs on Friday publicized the list of nominees for the nation's highest government charitable award, welcoming public vote.

A total of 200 individuals and organizations, pulled from 1,200 applicants, have been nominated for the China Charity Award.

The public can cast their votes at www.charity.gov.cn starting from Saturday, and the final 100 winners will be decided jointly by the evaluation committee and popular vote.

The award was established by the Ministry of Civil Affairs in 2005 to honor those who have made prominent contributions in the field of Chinese philanthropy, and it is the highest award given by the Chinese government for philanthropy.
