The Fifth Cultural Tourism Festival featuring mandarin from Liucheng kicked off on Nov 10. Traders and tourists came from all over China to pick and buy the mandarins. Liucheng has sped up adjustments to its agricultural structure and has greatly developed mandarin cultivation in recent years. The mandarin planting area in the region reached 170,000 mu (11,333 hectare) with an output of more than 250,000 tons and an annual value of 750 million yuan ($120 million).
