Chinese leadership and their pennames

Central government bodies

The Party's Organization Department uses the penname of 仲祖文 or Zhongzuwen, which means articles from the department.

The health ministry uses the penname of 卫民康 or Weiminkang, which means sanitation, people and health.

Zhongzhengxuan, or 钟政轩, which means Chinese political publicity, is the penname of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

People's Daily

Comments under the name of 本报评论员 or Benbao Pinglunyuan, which means commentators with People's Daily, are mainly about major events or serious topics.

For example, when the Central Committee of the Party announced the launch of an investigation into Bo Xilai, the former Party secretary of Chongqing Municipality, in 2012, three comments were published under the name of 本报评论员.

Another famous penname adopted by People's Daily is 任仲平 or Renzhongping, which means important comments from People's Daily.

Guojiping, or 国纪平, which means important comments on international issues, and Zhongsheng, or 钟声, which means the voice of China, are two other influential pennames adopted by People's Daily to comment on major international issues or international issues that involve China.
