20 injured in attacks on police HQ in eastern Turkey

ANKARA - Some 20 people were injured in a car bombing and gunfire attacks which hit the police headquarter in eastern Turkish province of Van late Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The police HQ was attacked by car bombing at around 23:00 local time (2000 GMT) on Wednesday.

Locals in the city center heard gunfire after bombing. Many ambulances and reinforcement of security forces have been sent to the scene.

The injured were mostly civilians and have been sent to local hospitals. Operations to capture the fleeing suspects have been launched.
