Visit to Russia

May 8-10

President Xi Jinping attended the military parade in Moscow marking the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-45). Xi's presence confirmed the two countries' resolve to uphold the post-war world order and safeguard world peace.

Peace not war, cooperation not confrontation, and win-win not zero-sum are what drive peace, progress and development of human society, Xi said in a signed article carried by the state-run newspaper Russian Gazette.

"We are strong if united but weak if isolated," Xi said, adding that the conditions today are more favorable than ever to achieve peace and development.
