More enterprises in the Internet era should become a 'customer operator ', rather than only be a product provider, said Edward Tian, chairman of China Broadband Capital on Thursday.

Tian made the remarks at an Internet innovation forum during the second World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province, Dec 16 to 18.

Tian pointed out manufacturers and customers can connect with each other via wireless network and chip, the first change in history which will fundamentally changed company's business model.

He stated more enterprises in the era would turn into a 'customer operator ', they will provide operation around clients, which also be a major change for the next-generation Internet enterprises.

He believed that enterprises, a 'customer operator' can price products according to time, distance and different user scenarios.

He said Big Data, Cloud Computing and all kinds of Intelligent Terminals not only change our applications, the more important is to be able to change the connections between the enterprise and customer. A company should ensure they can be 24 hours real-time online, and deal with customer operation via new software architecture.

Edward Tian set up AsiaInfo and China Broadband Capital, who is well known as "Mr Broadband of China".
