French nuclear group Areva SA on Thursday night denied that discussions will be in progress with Chinese nuclear company China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Co Ltd (CGNPC) to acquire a share in the future uranium mine Imouraren located in the North Niger.

The statement came after French media La Tribune reported that Areva is expected to reach agreement on the sale of a 13 percent stake in its Niger-based uranium mining operation Imouraren SA to CGNPC.
