BEIJING - The Chinese government will provide 30 million yuan ($4.76 million) worth of emergency humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon, the Foreign Ministry announced in a press release Thursday.

It said the aid was offered to "show Chinese people's friendly sentiments toward Syrian people."

The two governments, their people and Syrian people as well have expressed their appreciation for China's assistance, the ministry said.

It also noted that Chinese government provided $2 million in cash assistance to Syrian people through the International Committee of the Red Cross in March this year.
