Troops clear quake-stricken road

Rescue vehicles were trapped in Nilka county on their way to a quake-stricken area along the border of Hejing and Xinyuan counties in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. The earthquake, happened on June 30, has caused many cave-ins and landslides which seriously interrupted the traffic. The troops employed heavy rescuing machines to remove more than 6,000 cubic meters of stone and soil by the morning of July 5. The clearing is still underway. [Photo/Asianewsphoto]
