Troops clear quake-stricken road

The earthquake jolted a mountainous area along the border of Hejing and Xinyuan counties in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on June 30. The quake has caused many cave-ins and landslides which seriously interrupted the traffic. The troops employed heavy rescuing machines to remove more than 6,000 cubic meters of stone and soil by the morning of July 5. The clearing is still underway. [Photo/Asianewsphoto]
