Unlike some of the celebrities who embrace the charity work for fame, Nicholas Tse prefers to be a Good Samaritan without leaving his name, reported on July 6, 2009.

Tse is said to have been secretly financing dozens of children in the poor areas in the Chinese mainland to help them attend school in the past few years. His good intentions were not revealed to the public until recently.

Tse also donated 30 thousand yuan (roughly $4,700) to the earthquake-hit area in the Wenchuan earthquake in 2009.
