Books on history are usually too academic or serious to enjoy. But in 2007, one of the bestselling books, entitled Ming Chao Na Xie Shi'er or The Ming Dynasty, has changed the Chinese reading public's opinion on history books. It has retold the official history of the Ming Dynasty of some four to seven hundred years ago with added humor and less jargon.
