The first batch of Emmys were doled out on Saturday night rewarding the best technical talent in showbiz.

The ceremony in downtown Los Angeles, plowed through nearly eighty technical, behind-the-screen awards.

The big winner of the night was HBO.

The cable TV channel walked away with a total of 29 awards, with fan favorite "Game of Thrones" nabbing eight of them, Queen Latifah's Bessie won four awards, while scientology documentary "Going Clear" grabbed three.

Behind HBO in the network awards tally was NBC with 11 awards, led by SNL 40th Anniversary Special's four wins.

FX trailed closely behind in third place, taking home eight trophies — mostly thanks to the American Horror Story series.

The creative Emmys also recognized guest actors in drama and comedy series, with trophies going to Reg E. Cathey for "House of Cards"; Margo Martindale for "The Americans"; Joan Cusack for "Shameless"; and Bradley Whitford for "Transparent."
