From about 2,000 years ago, through the heights of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), the Silk Road has played a unique role in foreign trade, cultural exchange and political relations stretching far beyond the boundaries of Asia. It has left its mark on the development of civilization on both sides of the continent.
On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, I have great pleasure to convey, on behalf of myself and the members of the Iranian Embassy in Beijing, my brotherly sentiments and cordial wishes for the Chinese government, and for the prosperity and well-being of the noble nation of China.
