Guangzhou International Table Tennis Center, a non-governmental organization, will work closely with local schools to train young players, according to the head coach of the center.

"We will send coaches to local primary schools and kindergartens to promote table tennis, encouraging more students to develop an interest in the sport," said Xiong Ke, head coach of the center.

According to Xiong, talented young table tennis players will be sent to professional teams for further training.

"We have launched free training in some local schools and organized a series of events in development of young table tennis players," said Xiong.

The center in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, was approved by the International Table Tennis Federation in 2010, and it was rated by the ITTF as one of the top six international training centers in 2014.

More than 300 young table tennis players from overseas have received free training at the Guangzhou International Table Tennis Center since its establishment.

"We will also build an international platform to promote exchanges between young Chinese players and their overseas counterparts," said Xiong.
