Xu Ping, general manager of the Henan bonded logistics center, said Premier Li Keqiang's visit last week gave them confidence and support in the development of logistics and e-commerce industries.

Xu, a veteran in logistics who has worked in bonded areas in Belgium and other European countries, said because of government support and favorable policies her company has built up an e-commerce network in about five years that would otherwise take a dozen of years in other countries.

"Next, we will strive to break bottlenecks and establish new business models to expand the market. But of course there will be doubts, which is normal for an emerging industry," Xu said.

"Those doubts will fade in years to come," she added.

The Chinese premier visited Xu's company last week during his visit to Henan province. Li encouraged emerging industries such as logistics and e-commerce industries to keep growing and overcome difficulties as well as doubts that have arisen in recent years.

Zhengzhou city, capital of Henan province, began pilot programs in cross-border e-commerce in 2012.

Statistics provided by the logistics center show total import and export business in Zhengzhou e-trade amounted to 28.8 million packages.

Xu said the biggest obstacle to the development of the logistics and e-commerce industries is the support of society, as some doubts remain as to whether online shopping has affected the country's trade and revenues.

"Li's visit showed support from high-level government, and we will be full of confidence in the future," she said.
