Education Ministry, Lego Education Group ink agreement

The Chinese Ministry of Education and Denmark's Lego Education Group reached an agreement in Beijing on Sept 25 to continue bilateral cooperation and promote a second Innovative Talent Development Program in China.

According to the agreement, Lego Education will provide Lego Group products and equipment to more Chinese schools selected by the ministry, from 2015 to 2019, to enable Chinese students "learn by playing" and improve their innovative ability.

Meanwhile, Lego Education will also provide training Chinese teachers, to help them play a better role in guiding and inspiring students to innovate.

The ministry and the Danish education group first cooperated in 2010, when the agreed to implement the first Innovative Talent Development Program in China from 2010 to 2014.

So far, Lego Education has set up 400-plus Lego labs in primary and secondary schools across China, and more than 20,000 Chinese teachers have received training under the program.
