An account manager of Ping An Bank, surnamed Ji, secured a deposit of 10 million yuan ($162,416) from a middle-aged woman after joining a square dancing group at Raffles City in Dongzhimen, Beijing, the Beijing Evening News reported.

Because of the bank's performance-based salary, the young man said he chose to join the group with the aim of attracting more clients and eventually won over the dancers. He has so far made a quarter of them clients, some of whom are gold card customers.

An insider said Dama, or middle-aged women, are seen as quality customers for banks because they are in charge of home finances and interested in investment. Middle-aged women are also easily persuaded to buy finance products.
