BEIJING - The Communist Party of China (CPC) has dealt with 1.1 million cases reported by complaint letters from the general public since April 2010, when a campaign began to improve Party organizations' approach to the area, according to new data.

As revealed on Monday at a symposium concluding on learnings from the campaign, courts and procuratorate across the country have dealt with over 600,000 cases of public grievances in which law violations were found.

According to a new release from the symposium, Party organizations at all levels have helped end over 14.8 million cases of conflict, and over 25.6 million Party members have provided volunteer services since the campaign's opening.

Furthermore, government agencies above county level have dispatched 6.73 million officials to grassroots communities to provide services to local people, and those at national level have sent some 630 young officials to 100 poverty-stricken areas.

Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, called at the symposium for efforts to press ahead with the campaign, following the instructions of President Hu Jintao and Vice-President Xi Jinping.

Li said the campaign should become the driving force for promoting the "Scientific Outlook on Development", and social harmony, as well as prompting Party members to serve the people.
