Chinese regulator will restart examining IPO applications after a two-month hiatus.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission said it will convene a meeting on Sept 28 to look at two IPO applications.

The commission's last meeting was on July 31.

The news worried some investors, who fear that new IPOs may divert funds from existing shares and pressure the market.

The major Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.19 percent on Monday. The country's biggest stock index is down 7.74 percent year-to-date and 3 percent in the past month.
