BANGKOK - No Chinese citizens had so far been found injured or dead in early Friday morning's bus accident that occurred in central Thailand's Prachin Buri Province, the Chinese embassy in Thailand said.

A tour bus carrying students and teachers collided with an 18-wheel truck at around 5 am local time, leaving 14 people dead and 40 others injured. The injured have been rushed to hospitals.

According to local police, the bus lost control after the brake system malfunctioned, and then crashed into the truck.

The embassy said it would continue to follow the development of the accident.
