What's the buzz

(China Daily) Updated: 2012-05-14 08:04

Was your mom's nagging annoying when you were a teenager? Did her nagging turn into a heartwarming memory when you grew up and no longer stayed with her day and night? China Daily cell phone readers share with us those memorable moments:

I love my mother, and her every move makes her lovely in my world. Since I entered university, I have been a long way from home, every time she calls me, she always asks the same question: "Are you eating enough, any fatter?" I never feel annoyed, and each time, reply to her patiently with "I am full." As you grow older, you will realize that your parents are the only people who will never give up on you, although they never say that they love you.

My mom left home to work when I was in the fifth grade of primary school and only returned in the Spring Festival each year. Whenever my mom was at home, she always told me: "Hurry, get up and eat your breakfast" and "Go to bed earlier!" and "Don't play with your mobile phone every day". Sometimes, my mom asked me whether she nagged me too much. However, actually, in my heart, I never feel that way since I know that all her nagging is because she loves me. Mom, I love you!

I have an elder brother and a younger sister and as the middle kid I am easily forgotten by my parents. My mom always said: "You see, how intelligent your bother is and how sweet your sister is." But I know my mom also loves me as she told me to be careful when I was going to school. Such love is different from those given to my bother and sister, and I will always love her!

Every Mother's Day, I will send a text message to a strange number to tell them to cherish their mother's love and be thankful to their mothers. This year, I will send this "nag" to the mobile phone newspaper, to share with others. Don't take it for granted until it is too late like I did.

When I was in university away from my hometown, my mom would send me a text message every morning to ask me to take care of myself, such as "The days are getting hot, drink more water and do not go out too often" or "It's cold outside, wear more clothes, don't get a cold". I thought she was nagging too much in those days, but at last, I realized that it may take a long time to send me a message. Mother's Day is coming, mom, I love you!

It is the Mother's Day, a festival both for my mom and my grandma. My grandma cannot speak, not to mention nag. I can understand how much my mom want those nags and I can not imagine how my mom spent her childhood. But for my grandma, she is giving her love in a special way that we can feel. I will not forget such love my whole life. Here, I would like to wish my mom and her mom health and happiness!

I was a little solitary when I was a small kid and sometimes I would have disputes with other students. Every day my mom would ask me what happened after school for details of how I was getting along with my classmates. She told me to be generous and learn to accept others. She taught me the way to communicate and get along with others. I want to thank my mom as it is her nagging that has made me optimistic and open-minded. I love you, mom!

My family was not good financially when I was young and I went to boarding high school. Each time my mom called me, she always said: "Don't compare with others in clothing, compete with them in your studies." Now I have grown up and have a job. My mom is still nagging, but now she says: "Remember to buy some decent clothes, don't let others look down on you." However, whenever I want to buy her clothes, she always says: "I am afraid to trouble you." A mother's love is the most selfless. Happy Mother's Day!
