The China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP) is an annual photo contest organized by the Photojournalist Society of China. It provides a platform for worldwide photographers to showcase their works, exchange ideas and build friends and connections. Beginning in 2005, the contest focuses on the idea of “peace and development”. It awards excellent work reflecting people’s achievements and conflicts, world changes and progress, and shows people’s living conditions, emotions, wills and strength. The contest has eight categories, including war and disaster, art and nature, science and economy, people and sports. It rewards winners with gold, silver, bronze prizes and excellence awards. The result of the 9th CHIPP was announced in Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province, on March 25. |
