Fear of tainted water spurs rush for bottles

A man buys more than 80 bottles of mineral water at a supermarket in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province Mar 1, 2012. According to a report released on Tuesday by Wuhan Environmental Protection Bureau, sewage discharged from the Chenjiashan water gate, 3 miles away from the Baishazhou water works, affected water quality, so the water works increased the chlorine content, causing the peculiar smell. The Baishazhou water works supplies drinking water to more than 1 million local residents. [Photo/CFP]
