Migrant children return home to attend schools
Qin Hang, a 7-year-old migrant child born in Hangzhou, cried saying good-bye to his mother at Hangzhou Railway Station as he returned to his hometown – Chongqing, to study in a primary school on August 20, 2010. Qin was one among a special group called "migrant birds" which refers to migrant workers' children who stay with their parents in another city where the parents earn money away from hometown. These "migrant birds" have to return to their hometowns when they are 7 or 8 years old for school. Because of Chinese hukou restrictions, more and more migrants' children have no choice but to return home for school. [Photo/Xinhua]
