Protection of endangered traditional instrument
Wei Tingcai, 76, examines the material used to make Pengbi, an endangered traditional musical instrument of Rongshui Miao autonomous county, Southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, July 22, 2010. A set of the instruments consists of eight Pengbis of different sizes. It has become endangered since the late 1960s. Wei has been making efforts for decades to protect the instrument from extinction and his home is now where Pengbi fans gather to learn to make and play the instrument. [Photo/Xinhua]
