Boosting awareness of Africa and volunteer work

Lack of awareness about the challenges and opportunities facing Africa has resulted in Chinese youths spurning the chance to partake in volunteer services on the continent, analysts said. However, some students have risen to the challenge and made an immediate impact. They present a new picture of China-Africa youth engagement and offer a window for more Chinese youths to learn about and participate in international development. China Daily will run in-depth stories about them, and their work, in the coming weeks.
