Shenzhen will invite 50 college students from key Chinese universities to visit well-known enterprises like Tencent and Huawei in October as part of the city’s effort to attract talented young people and entrepreneurs.

The event co-organized by the China University Media Union provides an opportunity for students to observe economic development and Shenzhen’s employment environment. Interested candidates must apply by Saturday for the program, which will run Oct 14 to 18.

In another effort to attract young talent, Shenzhen has been offering a suite of perks. It is providing free accommodations for graduates who want to apply for jobs in the city. It also offers residence registration for college graduates.

To encourage and support youth entrepreneurship, the city has increased venture loans from 100,000 yuan ($15,700) to 200,000 yuan and provided rental subsidies to most newly-established companies.

The city announced the benefits on Thursday along with the release of an instruction book, Denial of Unemployment upon Graduation. Complied by the Shenzhen Youth Federation and Nanfang Metropolis Daily, the book features famous enterprises and practical guidance for young people seeking careers in Shenzhen.
