Coordinated efforts needed for China’s reform

This set-up is necessary given China's mixed economy. However, I must add that ”markets" must come first and be the decisive determinant in any decision, otherwise one runs the risk of over-uniformity.

China is a very diverse country, and currently this diversity is often reflected in political bargaining games between ”locals” and “central,” in which, there're pros and cons, the pros are that they tend to encourage local initiatives, and the cons are they tend to contradict central policies. With the setup of this super committee, my worry is that it may lead to uniform decisions and implementations of policies that may not reflect local conditions.
