To win back the public's trust, The Red Cross Society of China is planning to set up an online site to make its work more transparent, Guo Changjiang, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and deputy head of the society, said on Tuesday.

"We are now discussing the details of the plan. It will take about three years to build such a comprehensive platform, where we will release the Red Cross' and its branches' donation information and other important information," said Guo.

The society suffered a public relations setback last June after Guo Meimei, a young woman who claimed to be an official of the society, bragged about her luxury cars and handbags on Sina weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter.
