BEIJING - China expects the coming BRICS Summit will find new impetus for global economic recovery and help enhance people's confidence, said Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi here Tuesday.

At the fourth BRICS Summit, to be held in New Delhi late this month, China is looking forward to promoting bigger and constructive role of BRICS nations in international affairs and relaxation of regional tension so to maintain stability, said Yang at a press conference on the sideline of the annual parliamentary session.

China also hopes to enhance cooperation among BRICS members, especially in economic and financial fields, so as to benefit people of these countries and the rest of the world, he added.

"I believe that the upcoming fourth summit will be crowned with success," he said.

BRICS is a relatively young bloc which brings together the five major emerging economies of China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa.

The rapid growth of emerging economies including BRICS members will be conducive to making the international order more just and equitable, Yang said.

When commenting on the Sino-India relationship, Yang said both countries want to see continuous sound and steady growth in the bilateral relationship and want to enhance exchanges and mutual trust and expand cooperation.

During his recent visit to India, Yang and his Indian counterpart agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, advance China-India practical cooperation in all fields, intensify personnel interflow and cultural exchanges, he said.

They agreed to well implement the important agreements reached at the leadership level including conducting consultations between the two sides on maritime security and ensuring peace and tranquility along China-India border, he said.
