Zeng Daxia has come up with a novel way to beat rush hour traffic – by paragliding to work.

The 42-year-old can often been seen flying across the Xiangjiang River in Zhuzhou, Hunan province in order to avoid the blockade of cars crossing the bridge.

It takes him just one minute to fly to the opposite side of river, escaping the hordes of commuters struck behind the wheel.

Zeng is also the coach of Zhuzhou Paragliding Club which has more than a dozen members from different backgrounds.

"We are not merely paragliding amateurs, but also promoters of the sport," said Zeng. "The conditions in Zhuzhou make it ideal for the paragliding and maybe in the future it can be developed to being tourism to Zhuzhou."
