Artists, scholars to gather at Huangshan Mountain

About 20 Chinese and international artists and scholars will gather at Huangshan Mountain in Anhui province for an intercultural dialogue from July 10 to 15.

Jointly organized by the State Council's Information Office, the National Tourism Administration and the China Internet Information Center, the visiting artists will sketch and paint at one of China's most well-known tourist destinations.

There will be academic discussions on topics such as differences between landscape oil painting in the West and mountains-and-waters Chinese ink paintings, as well as differences in aesthetics between West and East, and the relationship between tradition and modernity.

Following the intercultural dialogue, an academic report will be compiled, a documentary will be made and an art exhibition held.
