State Council appoints new HK govt lineup

BEIJING - China's State Council, or Cabinet, on Thursday appointed the lineup of principal officials of the fourth-term government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in line with the Basic Law of the HKSAR.

The officials were nominated by the Hong Kong Chief Executive-elect Leung Chun-ying.

Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor was appointed Chief Secretary for Administration.

John Tsang Chun-wah was appointed Financial Secretary.

Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung was appointed Secretary for Justice.

Paul Tang Kwok-wai was appointed Secretary for the Civil Service.

Tsang Tak-sing was appointed Secretary for Home Affairs.

Lai Tung-kwok was appointed Secretary for Security.

Raymond Tam Chi-yuen was appointed Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs.

Ko Wing-man was appointed Secretary for Food and Health.

K C Chan was appointed Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury.

Eddie Ng Hak-kim was appointed Secretary for Education.

Mak Chai-kwong was appointed Secretary for Development.

Gregory So Kam-leung was appointed Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.

Anthony Cheung Bing-leung was appointed Secretary for Transport and Housing.

Matthew Cheung Kin-chung was appointed Secretary for Labor and Welfare.

Wong Kam-sing was appointed Secretary for the Environment.

Chan Kwok-ki was appointed the Director of Immigration.

Clement Cheung Wan-ching was appointed the Commissioner of Customs and Excise.

Simon Peh Yun-lu was appointed the Commissioner of Independent Commission Against Corruption.

David Sun Tak-kei was appointed the Director of Audit.

Tsang Wai-hung was appointed the Commissioner of Police.

According to the Basic Law of the HKSAR, the officials will assume office on July 1, 2012.
