 Large Medium  SmallSwedish-Swiss power and automation technology giant ABB Group announced the establishment of ABB Silver Star Shenzhen Surge Arrester Co on June 18, a joint venture with Shenzhen Silver Star Power Electric Co offering safety products to power systems.
The venture, based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, will provide the global market with lightning protection equipment that will help to guarantee the safe operation of power systems, said ABB China.
"ABB adheres to its ‘in China, for China and the world' strategy, paying special attention to the requirements of Chinese customers and constantly expanding our product lines," said Bernd Muehe, head of Power Products Division, ABB North Asia and China.
Ye Weixiong, president of Shenzhen Silver Star Power Electric and Shenzhen Silver Star Group, said that the cooperation will help the local company release more competitive products to the market not only in China, but elsewhere in Asia and the whole world.
According to the Annual Report on China's Energy Development 2011, China's power demand will maintain high-speed growth over the next five years. In 2012, the demand is expected to increase by 9.5 percent.
