Large Medium SmallHANGZHOU - Three people were poisoned and died when cleaning a wastewater tank on Saturday afternoon in East China's Zhejiang province, local authorities said.
The accident happened at about 1 pm at Jinluoma Industry Development Co. Ltd in Dongyang City when a company staff surnamed Tu dropped to the electroplating wastewater tank when doing the cleaning, a Dongyang municipal government official said.
Another five staff, who tried to save Tu from the tank, were all poisoned. Three people died in hospital and one was critically poisoned. The other two remained in stable condition, he said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
